Preena Chauhan starting teaching Indian cooking classes alongside her mother when she was 15. She did not know at that time however she’d be sharing her Indian culinary traditions, knowledge and recipes with others through Arvinda’s Indian cooking classes!
Preena’s Indian cooking philosophy is about bold flavours, lighter, vegetarian meals and saving time in the kitchen—after all, no one wants to cook up a beautiful meal that takes four hours of labour!
Wonderful tasting meals with amazing flavours can be a part of everyday mealtimes and Preena loves to inspire her students to cook healthy, delicious meals with ease through the use of good quality, fresh spices. In her classes, she shares her passion and knowledge for the world of spices and believes, ‘without spice, there is no life!’ She’s an advocate of her favourite spice, turmeric (see posts on her blog A Teaspoon Of Turmeric) which you’ll catch her ‘plugging’ constantly!
She's a lover of live music (having a mild obsession with concert setlists!), finds tranquility in deepening her yoga practice, is a devotee of Ayurvedic lifestyle principles and would like to own a dog in her future. She is the co-founder of Arvinda’s Indian spice blends which she runs with her brother, Paresh.
"In a gentle way, you can shake the world."
